Browns agree to terms with 22 undrafted rookies - Browns - Ohio

The NFL lockout is finally over, just in time for training camp!  The Browns have already added 22 undrafted rookies to help fill out the roster for camp.

In a normal offseason, teams sign those players immediately after the draft in late April. The league’s lockout, however, kept the usual process from unfolding and left undrafted free agents in limbo.

NFL teams were finally allowed to sign undrafted rookies Tuesday. The Browns agreed to deals with 22, a team spokesman said. The Browns have yet to announce the names of the undrafted rookies with whom they have agreed to terms. The following is an unofficial list of 17 compiled from several reports:

Happy 4th of July!

“You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness.  You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.”
-Erma Bombeck

We wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!

'Second Chances' are always in style

Pretty awesome way to use some recycled items and help animals get a much needed “Second Chance.”

The ''Second Chances'' event was designed and choreographed by the school's art students, under the capable tutelage of Sherrine Selzer, professional artist/art instructor. It was quite the production.

Showcased by student models and designers were 25 garments you'd be hard-pressed to find at any store, fashioned from what Selzer termed ''found'' or recycled items. Everything from garbage bags to duct tape, Bubble Wrap to balloons to butcher paper, cereal boxes, sheet music, pop cans, gift-wrap ribbons, cellophane, sheer curtains and bed
sheets.

Should You Switch to "Cell Phone Only" Service in Your Apartment?

These are some great tips to think about when deciding if you want to keep your home phone service or stick with just your cell phone:

Now that cell phones are affordable and nearly ubiquitous, paying for a landline in your apartment can seem like an unnecessary expense. Cell phones are fantastic, but they aren’t perfect, and traditional phone service still retains a few reliable benefits.

Medina named third healthiest county in state

Congratulations Medina residents on being named the third healthiest county in the state!

Medina County once again was named as one of the healthiest counties in the state, according to a national study released on March 30.

The county had the third highest ranking in the study, which was published by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The study looks at a variety of factors that affect health such as the rate of dying before age 75, education levels, child poverty rates, adult obesity and environmental factors like air quality.

Don’t forget to file your taxes by Monday, April 18th

Before you rush to file your taxes today, remember that you actually have three more days to get your forms turned in to the tax man.

Instead of being due on April 15, which is typically the filing deadline, your taxes are due Mon., April 18 this year.

The three bonus days come thanks to Emancipation Day, a little-known Washington, D.C., holiday that celebrates the freeing of slaves in the district.

Emancipation Day falls on Sat., April 16, but it is observed in D.C. on Fri., April 15. That prompted the IRS to extend the tax filing deadline to April 18 this year. Under the tax code, filing deadlines can't fall on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.
